Former Real Madrid vice-president Amador Suarez passes away after contracting coronavirus

Former Real Madrid vice-president and board member Amador Suarez has died at the age of 76 after contracting the coronavirus.

Amador was the club's vice-president between 2007 and 2009. During that time, Los Blancos lifted two La Liga titles and the Spanish Supercopa.

As claimed by Real Madrid's official website, Amador Suarez was the club's official member for 33 years.

The number of lethal coronavirus cases in Spain has exceeded 25,000. More than 150,000 people, however, have recovered from the disease.

Rest in peace, Amador.
