Chelsea among 50 European clubs to use social media to try and help find missing children

Chelsea are among 50 European clubs who will use social media to try and help find missing children on May 25, the International Missing Children's Day, BBC reports.

The project has been inspired by AS Roma who posted videos of missing children when announcing new signing during the last two transfer windows. Thanks to their efforts, six of those kids have been found.

Other Premier League clubs, Liverpool and Tottenham, have also joined the initiative which is coordinated by the European Club Association (ECA). The list of participants also includes Barcelona, Athletico Madrid and Valencia in Spain, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund in Germany, Inter Milan, Juventus and Lazio in Italy.

The ECA have said in a statement: "With the huge following and global reach that these clubs boast, we hope that someone, somewhere might recognise one of the missing children in the videos so they can be reunited with their loved ones."

This is far from the first time when Chelsea act as a force for good in their community. Last month, the club announced their support for women's charitable organisation Refuge to raise money and awareness for the victims of domestic violence. And as it goes without saying, they do a lot to help the medical professionals in their fight against the coronavirus
