7 potential ins & 5 outs at Chelsea: latest transfer round-up with probability ratings
Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund) - 3/10
One of the most chased-after assets on the market at the moment, Sancho is slowly but surely nears Dortmund exit. The problem is his price: the Bundesliga side will demand at least €100m for the 20-year-old, which might be a problem for the Blues.
It's not an issue for Man United, though, which is why they are currently in the pole position for the forward. A lot might change before the transfer window opens, though.
Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona/Bayern Munich) - 4/10
Chelsea are once again linked with the ex-Liverpool star who is not wanted by Barcelona. He's been useful for Bayern is likely to be loaned out to another club for the next season.
Several Premier League teams are rumoured to be keen, including Chelsea. He's not the top priority for the Blues, though.
Declan Rice (West Ham) - 3/10
Former Chelsea Academy member, another England international, and established Premier League player - what's not to like about Rice (some Chelsea fans beg to differ, though)?
He's another player Chelsea and Man United are reportedly competing for. Rice is someone considered as a cover for Jorginho - but do we need it?
Ben Chilwell (Leicester City) - 4/10
Chelsea are almost certain to sign a left-back in the next window, and Chilwell reportedly tops the shortlist. The main problem is, again, the price: Leicester are likely to set an asking price close to the world-record fee of £80m they got for Harry Maguire last summer.
Alex Telles (Porto) - 4/10
The Brazilian is seen as a quality alternative option and, as he's set to leave Porto anyway, the Portuguese club are likely to make a discount on an initial asking price of just €40m. This might encourage the Blues to go after Telles, after all, after months of rumours linking the 27-year-old to a move to Stamford Bridge.
Nicolas Tagliafico (Ajax) - 2/10
Another alternative option that has just appeared on our radar, Tagliafico is an experienced international player who has enjoyed a very successful campaign with Ajax last year. The two clubs have already done business this year, so the relationship between them might benefit Chelsea again.
Gianluigi Donarumma (AC Milan) - 3/10
No transfer round-up is possible without at least one keeper who is rumoured to be a potential rival (or replacement) for Kepa. Donnarumma is a gifted keeper who is still 21 years old. However, Real Madrid and PSG are also keen on the Italian. As for Chelsea, a lot (if not everything) will depend on Kepa's form when football resumes.
OUTS
Pedro - 8/10
Yes, Pedro has denied he's 100 per cent leaving Chelsea after this season, but so far, little suggests that he'll stay. Chelsea are on the look-out for a new winger, while Pedro has only come to the fore in the last games before the season was suspended. He'll probably be of more use to an MLS club than as Chelsea.
Willian - 6/10
The only Chelsea player to leave the UK during the coronavirus pandemic, Willian has effectively put the contract talks on hold. The player and the club still disagree on terms of a new contract, and chances are it'll never be signed at all.
Olivier Giroud - 7/10
Probably, Chelsea wouldn't mind keeping the Frenchman for another season, especially after his performances in the last games. However, if reports about Inter and Lazio offering him 2-year deals are true, it won't be a surprise to see Ollie leave.
Emerson - 5/10
Another player who has been recently forced to deny reports concerning his future at Chelsea. Still, Emerson does not look like a player who's been counted on in the past months and if a big Italian club make an offer, the Blues might not hold on to him.
Andreas Christensen - 3/10
AC Milan want to start a rebuild, and Christensen is someone who's been on their mind for a while. But he's become one of the most trusted centre-backs in 2020, and it might take quite some convincing for Chelsea to let him go, especially if no-one comes to replace him.
