Vice-president Cardoner claims Barca ready to sell name rights for upcoming 25 years
It is expected that Barca will face big financial losses because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The club consider selling the Camp Nou naming rights to generate more cash.
Initially, the idea was to sell it for just one season.
Now, vice-president Cardoner reveals the naming rights might be sold for 25 years ahead.
As you may remember, Barcelona are now looking to sell the naming rights on Camp Nou. At first, reports claimed that this measure will only apply to the 2020-21 season. However, vice-president Jordi Cardoner has revealed that the right could be sold for longer.
"We reduced our incomes extremely far," Cardoner told ESPN (h/t Mirror). "This is for sure, what we know today. These millions will be in our losses at the end of the year.
"This is something you could add to this year's agreement [to sell the rights]: 25 years more. The first year for the coronavirus and the next 25 for commercial reasons, having the title rights to the Camp Nou. Why not?"
This season might be the first time in the 63-year history of our stadium that the name is sold.
Barca's vice-president has also explained the club's position: "We want to send a universal message: for the first time someone will have the opportunity to put their name on Camp Nou and the revenues will go to all of humanity, not just Barca."
