'I really don’t know what my future will be': Willian still undecided over contract standoff
No one can be certain whether we'll see Willian plying his trade with Chelsea after this season, and the Brazilian himself has admitted as much speaking to the media from his home country.
“Everyone knows that my contract ends in July,” Willian told Gazeta Esportiva. "As I said before, I had a conversation with Chelsea, they offered me a two-year contract, I asked for three and it stopped there.
“It stays that way. I really don’t know what my future will be, whether I’m going to stay or I’m going to leave.
“I don’t think about going back to Brazil now. I believe I have a market here in Europe. My goal is to stay here.”
Willian's not lying here, at least according to the recent reports. Arsenal, Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all been linked with the 31-year-old in the past weeks.
The silver lining of this story is the fact that the No.10 has vowed to stay at Chelsea until the end of the season even if it ends after June 30, the date when his current contract officially ends. It might not be up to him, though, as such cases will most likely be regulated by FIFA and UEFA.
