Bayern insider Falk confirms Alaba's exit rumours amid Barca links
Barcelona are said to be interested in sealing Alaba's signing.
The left-back is likely to leave Bayern in the summer, Christian Falk confirms.
The €65m-rated defender has mostly played as a centre-back this season.
Bayern's full-back David Alaba is being heavily linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona these days.
According to highly-credible Christian Falk, there are realistic chances that the Austria international will leave Bayern Munich in the summer.
Unfortunately, the Barcelona board might not see the transfer as viable. The only way the Catalans could sign the Austrian full-back is for him to accept a pay cut. Alaba reportedly doesn't see this as an option for himself at the moment.
The 27-year-old currently earns 8 million euros per season and wants his salary increased. Even with the Bavarians giving the green light to his sale, Barca would have a hard time meeting the player's demands due to the salary limit at the club.
Barca already have two left-backs, Jordi Alba and Junior Firpo. However, the Catalans are reportedly looking to add another full-back this summer. So far, both Alba and Firpo have looked unimpressive. Besides, Jordi turns 31 in a week and it's clear that his best years are now behind.
As for Alaba, the Austria international has played 28 games this season, 20 as a centre-back and eight as a left-back. He has contributed with one goal and two assists this term.
In total, David has recorded 30 goals and 48 assists in 372 games at Bayern. Over the years, he has been deployed in multiple positions. He can play as a left-back, centre back, central midfielder and as a winger. Transfermarkt currently value him at €65m.
