Abel Ruiz heaps praise on Trincao, likens him to one and only Leo Messi
Ex-Blaugrana Abel Ruiz has heaped praise on his new attacking partner Trincao as the duo are currently locked in the same house due to the coronavirus spread.
The Spaniard told Mundo Deportivo: "I get along very well with Trincao, he is a very good guy. He's a very good player and I'm sure that he will do very well at Barca. Trincao, honestly, is a very complete player. He's more than ready to play for Barca. His shot is incredible."
Moreover, Abel even likened Trincao to the one and only Leo Messi: "I would say Trincao looks like Messi, but you can't compare anyone to Leo. He is the typical left-winger who has a good dribble, someone who's skilled. If he plays on the right, he goes inside and hits with his left. On the left, he overflows and scores many goals."
Both players are currently at Braga. Abel joined the Portuguese giants on a six-month loan deal on January 31. Braga have an €8m mandatory purchase option when the current season ends.
Still, the Catalans could re-sign their former striker for the whopping €40million.
As for Trincao, his €31m transfer was confirmed on the same day. He will join Barcelona in July.
So far this season, Trincao has scored seven goals and provided eight assists. Abel Ruiz, for his part, has only made three appearances for his new side. Still, he managed to score a screamer in the 3-2 Europa League loss to Rangers.
Curiously, it was Trincao who set up Abel's stunning strike.
Before leaving Barcelona, Abel Ruiz made 19 appearances for the reserves and scored three goals.
